Hello, my name is Daniel Adams and I work on boat or yacht marine HVAC, refrigeration and diesel heating systems out of the Tacoma, Washington area. I started at Breakwater Marina in Tacoma, Washington in May of 2010 and continue to work on Dometic, MarineAir, CruisAir and other marine heating and cooling systems. There are a few Yacht Aid and Mermaid systems floating around and I work on these boat HVAC units also.

Breakwater Marina in Tacoma has closed their service department, but I continue working on refrigeration, HVAC and diesel furnace systems. Webasto, Espar, Hurricane systems continue to be plentiful and with the coming cold weather will need to be be serviced, cleaned and repaired.

Some of the older MarineAir and CruisAir R22 systems are still functional. The HVAC controls may or may not be repairable. Some can be replaced with universal boards and different remote panels. I also carry the common refrigeration gases with me. Some of the older R12 and R22 systems can be serviced. Many of these are becoming quite 'long in the tooth', but service or replacement options are available.

The Webasto, Espar and Hurricane diesel furnaces are still with us and going strong. Beginning of the year 2020 manufacturers changed support of many older but excellent performing boat or yacht diesel furnace systems. Repair parts and support for some boat diesel heating systems seemed to disappear overnight. The end result is a peculiar mix of more expensive older system repair options and more simplified newer installation options.

Living in the Pacific Northwest is wonderful. Our climate provides us with a diversity of attributes, as such our choice of heating options reflect our climate.

Keep in mind when contemplating a boat or yacht reverse cycle system.

Boat owners benefit from very effiicient diesel powered heating. A variety of furnaces allow boating activity to continue 'on the hook' without continuous need of running a generator.  If you need to run your generator continuously, but would rather not, you might consider options.
